Our Central Ensembles, led by trained and expert conductors are open to any school-aged musician but priority is given to those living within the city of Birmingham or attending a school within Birmingham.
Entry to the Central Ensembles requires an audition or attendance to a workshop which usually take place in the summer term.
These sessions benefit children because they:
• Get to take part in a fun activity, playing engaging and appropriate music
• Learn or improve on their music skills
• Learn or improve other important skills like teamwork, listening, musical understanding as well as social skills.
Every ensemble performs at least 3 concerts a year, including one at the world-class Symphony Hall, as well as at least one at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s new state-of-the-art concert hall, The Bradshaw Hall.
